Spiritual Significance

Purusha Suktam is the pinnacle of Vedic cosmology:

  1. Sahasrasirsa: Describes the Cosmic Being with 1000 heads, eyes, and feet.
  2. One-Fourth & Three-Fourths: 1/4th of Purusha forms the physical manifest universe; 3/4ths remain unmanifest in the immortal spiritual sky (Tripad-Asyamritam Divi).
  3. Nanyah Pantha: Proclaims Tamevam Vidvan Amrita Iha Bhavati—knowing the Supreme Purusha is the only path to conquer death.
